When Nothing Seems to Help

I get why you don't want to be here. It can feel exhausting trying so hard and not getting anywhere. I get why you want to eat that, take that, buy that, or say that. Sometimes life, other people, or situations can be completely overwhelming—sometimes for a moment, and sometimes it feels like all the time.

Staring at a wall, screaming at the top of your lungs, ripping a pillow apart, or even cause pain to yourself or someone else may seem like it would bring relief. I get it. And it may for a very brief millisecond.

When the going gets tough, sometimes even the toughest has run out of strength.

I wish I had the answer—a quote, a phrase, a Bible verse, or something that could simply take the pain away. I don't. And I won't promise that everything will magically get better because life doesn't always work that way.  Uplifting blog isn't it? JK

What I can tell you is this: it's okay to feel what you're feeling. If you choose to stay—and I sincerely hope you do—it's okay to simply acknowledge where you are right now.

When we accept where we are—because, frankly, we're already here—we create a different opportunity to move forward. Not because we've suddenly fixed everything, but because we're no longer fighting the reality of this moment.

An authentic move. One that's congruent with who you are, instead of who you think you're supposed to be. Your version of healing will look different from your neighbor's, and that's exactly how it should be.

So find what works for you right here, in this moment. Find the things that remind you that you are still alive, still worthy, and still capable of taking one more step. You don't have to take ten steps today. Just the next one. Acknowledge, perhaps, it's ok to be right here, right now.

You've got this, my friend. You've got this.

Until next time...
